Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park is New Mexico's 34th state park, and ground was broken on its new Visitor Center in December, 2005. A remnant of riverside woodland and restored wetland along the Rio Grande, this park is a haven for migratory birds and for people seeking walking trails and quiet enjoyment of nature.

Day Use
Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park is designed as a day-use park for walkers, bicyclists and wildlife watchers.

Development Schedule
New Park Superintendent Stan Ellis is in the process of hiring his staff, to include one park interpreter, one law enforcment ranger and one park maintenance technician. Construction on the park access road is complete. The park office, visitor center and associated facilities are under construction with completion anticipated in late 2007.
